Not a bad way to get extra money for college, just write a 500 word essay and you may be selected to be awarded one of these two scholarships.

The William B. Ruggles Right to Work Scholarship honors the esteemed Texas journalist who coined the phrase “Right to Work” and contributed greatly to the movement’s advancement. A $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to the student who exemplifies the dedication to principle and high journalistic standards of the late Mr. Ruggles.

And, The Applegate-Jackson-Parks Future Teacher Scholarship honors three Michigan public school teachers who were fired for no other reason than their refusal to pay union dues. One $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to the education student who best exemplifies the dedication to principle and high professional standards of Carol Applegate, Kay Jackson, and Dr. Anne Parks.
