AFGE Union Boss Michael Wood Sentenced to Prison

Michael Wood is now the former treasurer of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 3957 in Grant, Louisiana. Back in April 2021, he was charged with forgery, which was then followed by a guilty plea on May 13, 2021. You can read more about the original charge here. Then on September 16, he heard his final sentencing. Michael Wood must now serve three months in prison, as well as three years of supervised release. The sentencing also includes $29,664 in restitution and $100 special assessment.

In the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, Michael Wood […] was sentenced to three months in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons followed by three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay $29,664 in restitution and a $100 special assessment. On May 13, 2021, Wood pleaded guilty to one count of forgery, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 513(a). The sentencing follows an investigation by the OLMS Dallas-New Orleans District Office.DEPARTMENT OF LABOR
