CN is a transportation company based in Canada. When it comes to dealing with international markets, there is usually unwanted double-handling, as well as warehousing costs. So now, CN is working on a plan that will allow their customers access to these markets without the hassle. In order to do this, they are investing $16 million toward a new facility in Mobile, Alabama. And the best part is that this new location will also create 50 new jobs.

From Area Development Magazine:

“CN is once again using the strength of its unique tri-coastal network to help customers win in their markets. […] This logistics park will service customers across our network and the first phase will specifically serve the demand for bagging and stuffing plastic resin containers, which is on the rise in the U.S.â€

“Along with our core partners Canadian National and Ray-Mont Logistics, we believe this project represents the first step toward the establishment of a multicommodity logistics hub which will serve producers and global markets for decades to come.†[…]

“Ray-Mont’s new investment positions Alabama’s seaport into the fast growth resin market, while providing shippers a near-port gateway equipped with new ocean carriage services into key export markets.â€AREA DEVELOPMENT MAGAZINE
