Joshua Fernandes, Former Union Boss, Charged with Wire Fraud

Joshua Fernandes is the former Treasurer for the New Bedford Police Union in New Bedford, Massachusetts. On July 19, 2021, he was charged with wire fraud. The investigation indicates that Fernandes stole as much as $48,630 from the union.

From the Department of Labor:

In the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, Joshua Fernandes, former Treasurer of the New Bedford Police Union (located in New Bedford, Mass.), was charged in a one-count information with wire fraud in the amount of $48,630, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 1343. The charge follows an investigation by the OLMS Boston-Buffalo District Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
