Linda Rogers, AFSCME Boss, Sentenced to Home Confinement

Linda Rogers, former Treasurer for the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) in Jersey City, New Jersey has officially heard her sentencing as of May 26, 2021. Back in January of 2021, she pled guilty to embezzling $40,455 with the help of her daughter, Jennifer Rogers. Together, they managed to steal large sums of money through illegal checks, as well as wire fraud. Then back in April of 2021, Jennifer Rogers heard her sentencing. Now, Linda Rogers has faced hers. And it looks as though they get the same punishment of six months of home confinement plus 24 months of probation. To read more about Jennifer Rogers’ hearing, go here.

On May 26, 2021, in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, Linda Rogers [….] was sentenced to six months of electronically monitored home confinement and 24 months of probation. She was also ordered to pay $40,455 in restitution and a $100 special assessment. On January 12, 2021, Rogers pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement of union funds, in violation of 29 U.S.C. 501(c). The sentencing follows an investigation by the OLMS New York District Office and the Department of Labor’s Office of Inspector General.
