Union Official Time Breeds Corruption

workplacechoice.org, June 10, 2015

While it is unknown why AFGE leads the pack in criminal misconduct, a little known government union special privilege may explain some of the union’s proclivity for malfeasance.

AFGE Leads All American Unions in Criminal Misconduct by its Officials Since 2014

Fedsmith.com, June 04, 2015

According to the Office of Labor-Management Standards of the Department of Labor website, the following criminal actions took place with regard to Federal employee union officials since January of 2014. AFGE accounted for more activity than either large Postal workers union and, in fact, had more indictments and sentences than any other U.S. union of any kind.

Sen. Dan Brown: Right-to-work is economic development legislation

The Rolla Daily News Online, June 05, 2015

I am disappointed in the governor’s expected action of vetoing this year’s right-to-work legislation. This is a letdown to the 6 percent of Missouri’s population that work in closed shops that are forced to join a union in order to support their families, no matter how little the union does for them.

This veto is bad for the thousands of Missourians who would like to have a job but can’t find one because companies are failing to locate in Missouri due to the fact that many companies will only locate and/or expand in right-to-work states.

End of union? SLU Hospital nurses look to eliminate mandatory dues

St. Louis Business Journal Online, June 8, 2015

A group of Saint Louis University Hospital (SLUH) union nurses has gathered enough signatures to hold an election that would effectively create a “right-to-work†policy at the facility.

If nurses vote for deauthorization, it would remove the “union security†clause from the ongoing contract, meaning employees would no longer be required to pay union dues.
