Perhaps the most decided disadvantage to being a union boss must be that you deal with unionized employees who turn your own tactics against you as an employer.  Service Employees International Union bosses were stopped dead in their tracks as they resorted to tactics other employers use to stay in business.  The local of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) authorized a strike Tuesday against their employer, The Service Employees International Union (SEIU).  Both sides have agreed to go into mediation.

According to politico.com:

OPEIU rejected the SEIU’s last, best and final offer, arguing that the SEIU was cutting the number of union-staffed professional and technical support positions and was outsourcing the work to non-union consultants.
