Trey Huffty, Steelworkers Union President, Faces Sentencing

Trey Huffty was the President f the United Steelworkers Local 13-1731 in White Hall, Arkansas. But after getting caught embezzling from the union, he is now only the former president. Still, how long did this corruption go on before he was busted? On April 6, 2021, he pleaded guilty to embezzlement. You can read more about his guilty plea here. Then on September 23, 2021, he heard his final sentencing. He must now serve three years of probation as well as complete 150 hours of community service. He must also pay restitution.

On September 23, 2021, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, Trey Huffty, former President of United Steelworkers Local 13-1731 (located in White Hall, Ark.), was sentenced to three years of probation and 150 hours of community service, and he was ordered to pay $37,367 in restitution. On April 6, 2021, Huffty pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement of union funds, in violation of 29 U.S.C. 501(c). The sentencing follows an investigation by the OLMS Dallas-New Orleans District Office.DEPARTMENT OF LABOR
