UAW’s Vance Pearson Sentenced to A Year in Prison

It’s no secret that the United Auto Workers (UAW) Union is fraught with corruption. This is just another of the many examples. Vance Pearson is the former Regional Director for the UAW Region 5. Back in February of 2020, he pled guilty to conspiracy to embezzling funds from the union. Now, he must serve his sentencing of a full year in prison as well as 36 months of supervised release. He must also pay a total of $250,000 in restitution and a $100 special assessment fee.

From the Department of Labor:

On July 6, 2021, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Vance Pearson […] was sentenced to 12 months in prison and 36 months of supervised release. Pearson was also ordered to pay $250,000 in restitution and a $100 special assessment fee. […] The sentencing follows an investigation by the OLMS Detroit-Milwaukee District Office, the Department of Labor’s Office of Inspector General, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigations.
