After getting caught stealing from the union, Karen Pierce is no longer the office manager for Plumbers Local 142 in San Antonio, Texas. Back in July of 2020, she pleaded guilty to theft – stealing from union coffers. Then on August 12, 2021, she faced her sentencing. She must now serve five years of probation, as well as pay $112,759 in restitution. The stolen money was from the union’s coffers and was taken from hard-working citizens with the promise of being used to better the work environment. Instead, it ended up in another union boss’s pockets for their own personal gain.

From the Department of Labor:

In the United States District Court of the Western District of Texas, Karen Pierce […] was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay $112,759 in restitution. On July 22, 2020, Pierce pleaded guilty to one count of theft of union funds, in violation of 29 U.S.C. 501(c). The sentencing follows an investigation by the OLMS Dallas-New Orleans District office.
