What is Austal US Planning in Right to Work Alabama?

Alabama-NILRR

Austal US is a company that produces steel ships for the US Navy. Now, they are ready to add a new location soon in Right to Work Mobile, Alabama. In order to make this possible, the company is investing a total of $50 million toward the project. So this is great news for the area’s economy! It also shows how companies choose Right to Work states over Forced unionism states.

From Area Development Magazine:

“We are so excited to see our plans to add steel to our capabilities come to fruition. […] The addition of steel capability is a game changer as it opens up our capability to support the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and other customers with high-quality ships.“ […]

“During World War II, Mobile workers built steel Liberty ships that were critical to the war effort, and now, in the coming years, Austal will look to deliver steel ships, once again, needed by the U.S. Coast Guard and Navy.â€
