Forced-Dues States Collectively Stuck at 2019 Employment Level

Here are the top highlights from a recent article from the National Right to Work Committee Newsletter:

  • Since 2019, employment in Right to Work Nevada has increased by 40,000.
  • Employment in forced-dues California has decreased by 200,000 in the same period.
  • In 2023, aggregate employment for forced-dues states was 79.26 million, roughly 400,000 below 2019 levels.
  • Right to Work states saw aggregate employment of 80.98 million in 2023, about 3.2 million above 2019 levels.
  • Right to Work states saw a 16.0% employment gain from 2013-2023, nearly double that of forced-dues states.
