UFCT President Kye Carbone Faces 27 Counts of Embezzlement

US Department of Labor Investigation Update

Kye Carbone, UFCT Local 1460 President, has been charged with 27 counts of embezzlement of union funds, plus three counts of wire fraud.

On September 18, 2025, in the United States District Court for Northern District of New York, Kye Carbone, former President of United Federation of College Teachers (UFCT) Local 1460 (located in Brooklyn, N.Y.), was charged in a sealed indictment with 27 counts of embezzlement of union funds and three counts of wire fraud, in violation of 29 U.S.C. 501(c) and 18 U.S.C. 1343, respectively. The indictment was unsealed on October 17, 2025. The indictment follows an investigation by the OLMS New York District Office and the Department of Labor’s Office of Inspector General.
