Law Professor Urges Unions to Arbitrate Workers’ Race Claims in Wake of Pyett

LOS CABOS, Mexico—In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 14 Penn Plaza v. Pyett decision, unions should seek to represent employees in grievance arbitration of race discrimination claims, a law professor said Feb. 11 at an American Bar Association conference.

It is fortuitous that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie spoke this week at the American Enterprise Institute not only about budgets but about public employee unions. Many in the liberal media were enthralled and raved about his no-nonsense approach to governance.
