Missouri Gov Gets Donation After Veto

Missouri Governor Nixon’s veto of a Right to Work law earned him a sizeable donation from United Auto Workers’ union bosses.  The story appears in the Kansas City Business Journal.

A major union showed its gratitude — $50,000 worth — to Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon for his veto of “right-to-work” legislation, KSHB reports.

Nixon received a donation from the United Auto Workers international headquarters in Detroit days after his June 4 veto of a bill that would stop employers from having workers pay union dues as a condition of employment. The governor addressed a gathering of UAW members in the Kansas City area when he vetoed the legislation.
