Amazon is adding five new buildings in Detroit in order to help reach more people. This expansion is a big one and a big deal for Michigan’s economy. In fact, these new facilities will create over 2,000 new jobs. These jobs will include both full-time and part-time positions, giving people lots of options. This is in addition to the 13,500 jobs that Amazon already provides in Michigan. So this is great news for the area’s job market, and it’s just one more way that Right to Work states provide for their citizens.

From Area Development Magazine:

“We’re excited to be expanding our network to better serve our customers in the great city of Detroit. […] We are grateful for the strong support we’ve received from local and state leaders as we broaden our footprint throughout Michigan. We look forward to bringing more than 2,000 good jobs to Metro Detroit and contributing positively to the community.†[…]

“We’re thrilled that Amazon selected Detroit for what will be one of the largest fulfillment centers in Michigan. […] Amazon has been a great partner and its most important delivery will be the 3,000 construction jobs, 1,200 permanent jobs and new small business opportunities this new facility will bring to our city.â€AREA DEVELOPMENT MAGAZINE
