Government Employee Union Bosses Implicated in Rash of Corruption

Union officials for the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) are competing with the United Auto Workers (UAW) union bosses for the top contender in the Most Corrupt Union Boss as Congress presses to pass the so-called Pro Act which would enslave all workers in more compulsory unionism than already exists.  The Pro Act would repeal 27 state Right to Work laws, eliminate secret ballot elections, give way to card check forced unionism schemes, and eliminate any protections offered by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to workers in both public and private sectors. 

During the month of September, 2019, the US Department of Labor Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) reported 4 Criminal Enforcement Actions in 4 separate AFGE locals across the country.

The AFGE locals reported on the Criminal Enforcement Action report involve the following: 

On September 13, 2019, Tony J. Liesenfeld, former President and Secretary-Treasurer of American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 148 (located in Lewisburg, Pa.), was charged in a one-count information with wire fraud  . . . of at least $77,716, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 1343.   See the    local’s 2018 LM-3 here.

On September 12, 2019, Juan Evereteze, former President of American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 3258 (. . . Boston, Mass.), was sentenced on three counts of larceny over $250 by single scheme, . . . to four years of probation under a continuance without a finding, with the first year of probation being supervised.  He was ordered to pay $38,000 in restitution.   See AFGE Local 3258’s LM-3 here.

On September 12, 2019, Audonus Duplessis, former President of American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 2463 (. . . Washington, D.C.), pleaded guilty to one count of interstate transportation of stolen property for transporting $11,300 of stolen union funds from Washington, D.C. to Virginia to purchase a Dodge Charger for his personal use.  The total embezzlement by Duplessis was more than $80,000.  View Local 2463’s LM-3 here. On September 10, 2019, Annette Jones, former President of American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 331 (. . .
