Huvepharma is a company that develops vaccines for chicks in order to reduce the spread of disease in poultry farms. This helps poultry farms save money in the long run because less meat ends up going to waste. Now, they are expanding their facility in Scotland County, North Carolina. This way, they can increase their productions and have more room to grow. In order to cover the cost, they plan to invest $1.9 million.

They will also create 10 new jobs in the process as well. So more poultry won’t be the only good thing coming from this investment! Huvepharma’s plan to expand and hire more workers will give some people a leg up and boost the economy and job market.

From Area Development Magazine:

“North Carolina’s focus on building a well-trained biotech workforce continues to pay dividends in new jobs and new investments like Huvepharma’s announcement today in Scotland County.†[…]

“North Carolina’s leadership in the biotechnology industry is recognized across the world. […] Once again, a global leader has selected our state for an expansion of their business, and I welcome Huvepharma[…] and [their] continued confidence in our state.â€
