In November, 2011, Jarman, a security guard at Red River Army Depot (RRAD) in Texarkana, Texas, applied for membership in Local 2189 of the NFFE union after being promoted to a job that put him under that union’s “exclusive†(monopoly) bargaining power.
Local 2189 kingpins and their loyalists did not want to admit Jarman, who while employed as a security guard had also served as president of Local 124 of the International Guards Union of America (IGUA). The NFFE officials had had run-ins with Jarman ever since 2008, when he became IGUA Local 124 president.
Non-Union State Employees Claim Legal Win Over Dues Issue

The state has quietly settled a suit that challenged what critics claim was a policy permitting a labor union to collect dues from state employees who choose not to be union members.
The employees who brought the class action suit are members of a bargaining unit of about 2,300 engineering, scientific and technical personnel. They were represented by the nonprofit, Washington, D.C.-based National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation.

Randi Weingarten, the millionaire who runs the American Federation of Teachers, defended the union endorsement of fellow millionaire Hillary Clinton at a gathering of teachers on Monday.
The Clinton family has longstanding ties to Weingarten, who rose to prominence as head of New York City’s United Federation of Teachers. AFT gave between $1 million and $5 million to the Clinton Foundation, which charitable watchdogs described as a “slush fund†for the Clinton family.
