Recap: Nucor and VinFast Choose Right to Work North Carolina

Nucor and VinFast are both investing soon in Right to Work North Carolina! Both of these companies are making major investments too! Altogether, they will create a total of $7,680 new jobs. So these will be great economic additions!

Nucor:

Nucor is investing $350 million in order to expand in Right to Work Lexington, North Carolina. This will also create 180 new jobs!

“The corridor between Washington, D.C., and Atlanta is one of the fastest-growing regions in our nation, and new federal spending for infrastructure will further increase demand for rebar in the region,” Nucor president and CEO Leon Topalian said in the news release.

The average salary for at least 180 jobs at Nucor Steel Lexington will be about $99,660, according to a Gov. Roy Cooper’s office. That’s more than double the average wage in Davidson County of $45,117.

VinFast:

VinFast is investing $2 billion toward a new location in Right to Work Chatham County, North Carolina. This will 7,500 new jobs as a result!

“North Carolina’s strong commitments in building a clean energy economy, fighting climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in transportation make it an ideal location for VinFast to develop its premium, smart and environmentally friendly EVs. […] Having a production facility right in the market will help VinFast to proactively manage its supply chain, maintain stabilized prices and shorten product supply time, making VinFast’s EVs more accessible to customers, contributing to the realization of local environmental improvement goals.” […]

“North Carolina is quickly becoming the center of our country’s emerging, clean energy economy. […] VinFast’s transformative project will bring many good jobs to our state, along with a healthier environment as more electric vehicles take to the road to help us reduce greenhouse gas emissions.” […]

“Automotive assembly plants are incredible engines for economic growth, due to the positive ripple effects they create across a region’s economy. […] I’m so pleased that VinFast has decided to launch their North America manufacturing operations from our state, and we’ll work hard to make sure they find the skilled workforce they’ll need to grow and thrive in North Carolina.”
