Recap: What Companies are Locating to Right to Work Alabama?

Alabama is always attracting new businesses as a result of its Right to Work laws. Four companies that are locating here soon include Madison Metal Processing (MMP), Hanwha Cimmaron, Alabama Graphite Company, and Landing Apartments. But the businesses aren’t the only ones benefitting from these investments! In fact, they are all planning on creating new job opportunities. Altogether, they should bring in 1,217 new jobs. So this is news worth celebrating!

Madison Metal Processing (MMP):

Madison Metal Processing (MMP) is adding a new location in Right to Work Huntsville, Alabama with a $40 million investment. This will also create 40 new jobs!

“At MMP, we are committed to providing steel solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations. […] Together, with our partners and the added benefit of our collective acumen, MMP will set the bar for quality in every steel product we deliver.†[…]

“The Mazda Toyota Manufacturing plant represents a game-changing project for the North Alabama region. Its vast economic impact continues to magnify when world-class suppliers include the area in their growth plans. […] With operations like Madison Metal Processing moving in, Huntsville is solidifying its status as the auto industry’s next dynamic production center.†

Hanwha Cimmaron:

Hanwha Cimmaron is investing $130 million toward a new location in Right to Work Opelika, Alabama. This will also create 261 new jobs!

Alabama Graphite Products:

Alabama Graphite Products is adding a new location in Right to Work Coosa County, Alabama with an $80 investment. This will also create 100 new jobs!

“All of the graphite used and needed in the United States by the electric vehicle industry is imported. […] Most of it is from China, where the media have reported both worker and environmental issues. Domestic production of graphite reduces our dependence on foreign sources. Even though the raw graphite we will process into battery-grade material will be imported initially, none of it will be from China. We have secured agreements from other providers.†[…]

Landing Apartments:

Landing, an apartment company, is creating 816 new jobs as a result of relocating headquarters from San Francisco to Right to Work Birmingham, Alabama.

“As a Birmingham native, relocating our headquarters and expanding our Alabama team was a natural transition. […] I’m excited by the opportunity to continue to scale Landing and bring new jobs and economic opportunities to my community.â€

An analysis by the Alabama Department of Commerce estimates Landing’s relocation and expansion project over 20 years will create a total new payroll of $1.3 billion, bringing in $112 million in state revenue and a 356% return on investment to the state.

[…] This is great news for Birmingham and for the entire state because it shows that we have the workforce and capabilities needed by a cutting-edge company that is blazing new trails.â€
