Scoular Company has been in the feed and food ingredient business for 128 years. Now, they plan to invest in a new 15,000-square-foot facility in Jerome, Idaho. They intend to use this new location to focus on producing a new barley-based protein alternative called barley protein concentrate. It is specially designed to be a more sustainable protein long-term and will be used in pet food. Specifically, its function is to create high-protein pet food formulas. Scoular has also partnered with Montana Microbial Products to help them produce non-GMO barley protein concentrate.

This new expansion overall is going to provide economic stability and bring more job opportunities to the citizens of Jerome, Idaho.
