Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. Facility Brings Jobs to Right To Work Kansas

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc is the number one science company in the world. With the COVID-19 crisis, the company’s demand by the US government for medical supplies has skyrocketed. In order to keep up with the new demand, the company has invested $40 million into building a new facility in Lenexa, Kansas. The new location consists of 120,000 square feet and was built within just six weeks.

The science company has made a huge impact in helping fight COVID-19 by manufacturing testing supplies. But that’s not the only impact they’ve left. Already, their new location in Lenexa has hired 300 full time employees, leaving a positive economic impact on the locals.

From Area Development Magazine:

“I want to thank the Thermo Fisher team for its work in protecting our health and safety and helping Kansas tackle the many challenges brought on by COVID-19. […] By significantly increasing the manufacturing capacity of this facility, Thermo Fisher will not only have a positive impact on public health, but will help my administration as we work to rebuild our state’s fiscal foundation and make our economy stronger than it has ever been, not just returning to pre-pandemic conditions.â€
