The United Auto Workers (UAW) ratified a tentative labor deal with General Motors (GM) on Thursday. The deal passed by a margin of 55% to 45%, winning by nearly 3,300 votes out of more than 35,000 cast.
Seven of GM’s large assembly plants had rejected the proposed contract, but that wasn’t enough to offset support from about 54% of the union’s more than 34,700 workers.

The deal received support from about 81 percent of union members at GM Components Holding plants and parts distribution centers, as well as 96 percent of those at two electric vehicle battery plants.
