Merchants Distributors Expansion in Right To Work North Carolina

Merchants Distributors started their American Dream journey from nothing nearly a century ago. Now their dream is a reality, and their business growth hasn’t stopped yet!

So recently, the grocery-distributing company has decided to expand its current location in Caldwell County, North Carolina. So the $120 million investment will go toward adding 200,000 square feet to the facility. And, in order to run the new operations smoothly and efficiently, they plan to create 111 new jobs. This will be good news for citizens in Hickory and Caldwell County.

From Area Development Magazine:

“Nearly 90 years ago, Moses George, a Lebanese immigrant, and his two sons started this company with two trucks and 12 employees.†[…]

“Through hard work and vision, and a supportive environment for their business, this family built a company that now employs more than seventeen hundred people in North Carolina. It’s an inspiring, North Carolina story.â€

Merchants Distributors ’ project in North Carolina will be facilitated, in part, by a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) approved by the state’s Economic Investment Committee earlier today. Over the course of 12 years, the project is estimated to grow the state’s economy by $305.5 million.
